KB Carseating is fully owned and operated by Kelly Beckwith. Kelly began carseating with the birth of her oldest son in 1999. She certified as Child Passenger Safety Technician shortly after the birth of her second son in 2007 and became a volunteer for the Kingston & District Safety Council, now known as SEATS for Kids Kingston. Under the mentorship of the SEATS for Kids executive director, she quickly became an Instructor, teaching the national technician training course for six years. While teaching, she had the pleasure of working with many enthusiastic community volunteers, the Ontario Provincial Police, Kingston Police, Babies R Us, and corporate Canadian Tire.
It has been through her experience in coordinating clinics and assisting families that she realized her real passion lies in helping families one-on-one. She has a particular interest in children with exceptionalities and received extra education on the special needs seating options available to import from the US, the assessment of special needs children, and how to fit children to car seats based on individualized needs and ability. She also brings her personal experience as a mom with a child on the autism spectrum to the table.
Kelly has a strong managerial background and has worked in a prominent medical office for the last two years. She continues to coordinate the Kingston branch of SEATS for Kids and now offers personalized car seat selection, education, and installation assistance in the Kingston area.
KB Carseating is fully insured, up to date on current best practices, and certified through the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada.
